4月9日 Misinformation and DisinformationWhy is it that people think it's okay to hand out questionable information? Or worse yet, to do so in the name of "fun"?
That someone is irritating you isn't a good reason to do so. That someone doesn't know in better and won't realize that it's bad information is the worst reason of all.
Yet I see it a lot on web-forums.
I'm dealing with one now that claims all pagans are pantheists. Um....no. Not even most.
But when called on it, she tried to say that it didn't matter because she was just having fun with the troll. Riiiiight. And the numerous lurkers don't deserve accurate information <rolls eyes>
As with the previous post, it's a sad example of how many are wiling to settle for the mediocre rather then actually make an effort.
